Aly Aleigha is an Indie-Folk Singer/Songwriter and Worship Leader based in Duluth, MN. Since graduating from Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH in 2015, Aly provides consistent music for the ministry of Father Mike Schmitz at UMD’s Newman Center and Summer Youth Camps (you may have heard her sing on the Ascension Virtual Front Pew Masses), and serves as a recurring Worship Leader for Jeff Cavins pilgrimages to the Holy Land.

What’s the Difference?

There is a difference between a great performance and authentic Spirit-led worship. A musician can be an extremely talented performer but lack the charism of music, which draws listeners into deeper encounter with the Lord. When a musician has this charism, however, it is not a performance at all: it can lead to profound & life-changing encounter with God.

Aly Aleigha is gifted in both the art of captivating performance in her concerts, as well as authentic Spirit-led worship in prayerful settings. While worship-leading, Aly guides those present to not merely listen or sing along, but to authentically pray and experience the love of the Lord. She intentionally deflects attention from herself and serves as a vessel through which the Holy Spirit can move and make a home in the hearts of all those present.

CONCERT (Aly’s original indie-folk music - Band only)

During concerts of her original indie-folk music, Aly Aleigha may share the scriptural & personal stories that inspired her songs if desired. Aly’s concerts are a performance, but if desired she can incorporate some opportunities for worship within the concert as well.

WHAT TO EXPECT: WORSHIP EVENT WITH ALY ALEIGHA

In a worship setting like a Retreat or Holy Hour, Aly typically begins by sharing a story of how she experienced the beauty of God’s creation, and by affirming the dignity and goodness of each person as made in the image and likeness of God. She gives a brief scriptural teaching on what it means to worship as God’s unique creation, with both body & soul, through music. (Note: Aly is mindful of the comfort level of those present. She is comfortable leading music in most every setting, from traditional to charismatic). Sometimes she also shares a little of her personal faith journey & sings one of her original songs along with a fun anecdote prior to the worship portion of the evening as well.

Then during the prayer time, she may offer reflections between songs as the Holy Spirit prompts her, in order to help people enter into deeper prayer with a mix of music & silence (she will connect with the priest / client ahead of time to discuss their desires for the worship time in more detail).

For retreat-type events, Aly also works in tandem with the emcee by weaving together recurring themes and helping draw connections between sessions. She is speaking, but not “giving talks,” per se (Aly is not offering speaking presentations at this time so she can focus on music). People have found this very helpful for entering into the event more deeply.

WORSHIP EVENT OPTIONS:

Aly alone:  

An example of an evening of Aly alone would include: 15-30 min of engaging the audience through music & message, and then transitions into Adoration for approximately 1 hour with beautiful music and times of silence.

Aly with her band:

The same speaking points would be present but having the band would allow the evening to be a higher energy praise and worship type event - with or without a time of adoration.  We highly recommend having the band for youth events!    (See video examples below)

BIO

Aly Aleigha is an Indie-Folk Singer/Songwriter and Worship Leader based in Duluth, MN.  A 2015 graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH, Aly’s studies in Theology & Catechetics, along with her adventures & her personal, heartfelt stories have served as inspirations for her songwriting, which both rattle and comfort the soul of the listener.

At a young age Aly felt a fire in her heart to learn and share profound truths of the Church. In 2012 Aly was blessed to travel to the Holy Land for the first time, which made the scriptures come alive like never before, and she believes it is there that God gave her the call to use music to glorify Him.  Since then she has become a returning worship leader for Jeff Cavins pilgrimages to the Holy Land and for events led by Father Mike Schmitz. After graduating from Franciscan in 2015, in addition to working simultaneously in Middle School youth ministry at the Duluth Cathedral and College Campus Ministry with Fr. Mike, Aly recorded two albums of original music and began her career as a touring artist and worship leader. Within her original concerts, she teaches from her scripture-inspired lyrics and shares how the Lord worked in her life.

In summer of 2017 as recognition of her craft began to grow, Aly felt called to move into full time music ministry. Since then, while continuing to create new music, she and her band have traveled all over the country. Aly’s music has taken her and the band to places as far as Alaska and even Israel, sharing her gifts and encouraging others to share their own.

Aly’s mission with her music ministry is to convey deep-rooted truths of the human heart in profound and beautiful ways, to be a voice for those who have been left speechless by deep heartaches or by the greatest joys in life, to bind up the brokenhearted, comfort those who mourn and bring hope to all.
