BIO
Music has the capacity to speak the language of the heart, to identify our deepest desires, wounds, struggles & aspirations, and transcend us to a place of enduring hope. Using her charism of music & speaking, Aly Aleigha draws from universal experiences of humanity and unveils the mystery behind her profoundly poetic lyrics.
Aly Aleigha is an Indie-Folk Singer/Songwriter from Duluth, MN. When she is not touring, Aly spends her days rock climbing cliffs that plunge into beautiful Lake Superior or adventuring in some way. Aly's smoky voice and intimate lyrics have held listeners captive since her musical career began in 2015, after graduating from Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH and releasing her debut EP “Jealous Love.” The 4-track album, largely inspired by her studies in Theology & Catechetics, immediately gained traction, which encouraged Aly to form a band and release her first full-length album, “The Labyrinth” in 2016.
Shortly after her Album Release Show in September 2016, The Aly Aleigha Band received an invitation to play at a music festival in Paoli, PA for a crowd of over 3,000. There she received the “Emerging Artist Award” sponsored by Jeff Cavins & Relevant Radio.
Enrapturing listeners with heartfelt lyrics and warm, earthy tones reminiscent of Mumford & Sons or The Lumineers, recognition for her music launched Aly Aleigha into a full-time career in 2017—a transition sealed by hiking the Camino (Primitivo) de Santiago in Spain. Aly’s adventurous spirit and her experiences traveling greatly influence her songwriting.
In August of both 2017 & 2019, The Aly Aleigha Band played at City on the Hill Music Festival for crowds of over 3500. On January 24, 2018, Aly Aleigha signed with a Chicago-based record label (Rekindle Records located in Chicago, IL) to produce one single, “Waltz of the Traitor,” which was released August 9, 2019.
Aly currently lives in Duluth, MN where she is leaning into her artistry by independently working on new music, as well as touring nationally (when global pandemics don’t prevent it). In 2020, Aly released her first lead single (Gallicantu) from her self-published upcoming record (album release date TBA). The song was followed shortly by Auburn Skies in November 2020, and Solstice in April 2021.
Aly is looking forward to resuming a tour schedule when things open back up, but she is grateful for the opportunity to invest time into honing her craft.
